Merry 1st Christmas

Merry Christmas everybody, so it's a day late, oh well.
I had a good Christmas. I got some clothes, from mommy, and some
toys from the aunts and uncles and a few other fun things. I can pull myself to a standing position without any help, and stand for a little bit, but I haven't taken any steps yet. Mom and dad can wait a bit longer for that next milestone. I am still loving to babble and tell lots of stories, some are louder and longer than they may need to be, but I want to make sure that everyone knows what is going on with me. I have two teeth on the bottom and they are sharp, I accidentally bit mom the other day. I guess she knows now to keep her finger out of my mouth (hee hee). This is me in my new Christmas Eve dress. I actually kept my shoes on the whole night too. That was a first for me, I don't like things on my feet. It was so cold, mom thought I should cover my toes too. My grandma came to visit with me, so we have been having fun shopping and just being together too. My other grandma and grandpa will be coming this weekend for New Years, I wonder what we will do together. I hope that you have a wonderfully blessed New Year. I know that I will be learning and growing and I hope you will join me in my next adventures. I will leave you with a couple more pictures of me and my first Christmas. Take care of you and bye for now...

catching up

A lot has happened since mom last wrote on here, so I'll try to summarize the past couple of months with a few pictures. Here I am with my Halloween costume, I was a cowgirl, all I'm missing is my hat, mom couldn't find one that was just my size, but she found the boots, so we just went with it. We went to our Fall Family fun night at church that night. We had a good time, next year I may be able to play some of the games, I was a little scared of things this year, but it was fun to watch everyone else.

On November 13th, we had our Adoption Day. I got to go with mom and dad to court to finalize the adoption. The judge was very nice and when she asked mom and dad a question, I wanted to answer too, so I said,"Yes",or what sounded like a yes, so everyone thought that was really cool and I got a laugh from those who came to support mom and dad and me. We have such good friends and family. We were only in the courtroom for maybe 5 minutes and then it was all done. We went to Black Eyed Pea for a celebration lunch and then later that night we met with friends and my mommy's family and Grandpa and Grandma for a fun dinner at White Fence Farm. It was a great night and day.

This was the outfit that I wore for my adoption day. I love polka dots and I thought I looked so cute. Okay, so I didn't leave the hat on for very long, but mom had to get one picture of me with it on.

We celebrated Thanksgiving and Christmas early with daddy's family, because mommmy had to work the day after, so we took a little trip to see them and this is a picture of me and all my cousins. We had a good time playing together, but it soon became overwhelming with so many of them and only me, so I had to take a few naps to get away to have some of "me" time. It was strange the next day when it was just me again and I got all the attention. I decided I like it better that way.

On Thanksgiving day we went to my cousin's house here and spent part of the day together with mommy's family. It was fun to explore a new place and see what I could get into that I wasn't suppose to be into. Things everywhere. I'm glad that I didn't break anything or I would have made mom and dad sad. It turned out to be a good day and I am thankful for my family and friends who love me so much.

Grandma and Grandpa gave me a wagon for Christmas, so now we can take lots of walks with that and I can put lots of things in it too. There is room for a friend to go with me too. We can each have our own seat. Yeah! I wonder what else I'll get for Christmas.

Sorry that it took so long to get back to you all. Mom promises that she will try to get better about updating this, because she knows how much my audience misses me. As far as things I'm doing, I haven't taken any steps yet, but I move around furniture and I jabber quite a bit, still working on words, lots of dadadadaa and mamamamama and babababa. Oh, and I have two teeth on the bottom now, so I can gum different foods like crackers, bread, pasta, things like that. My eating has gotten better too, now that I have so many more choices. I hope that you have a great week and we'll talk soon. Bye for now.

8 months

Sorry it has taken so long to get anything up here, mom got busy with working a little bit more, so she hasn't sat down to type out my latest adventures for me. I have been quite busy so far this month. I went to another pumpkin patch with my grandpa & grandma and then spent a couple of day with my other grandma. I am still pulling up on everything and I can even stand by myself, without holding onto anything, for a few seconds before falling down. I get around pretty well too, not liking to sit still for too long. All of mom's scrapbook stuff is fun to get into too. It is all within my reach, she may have to rethink that....anyway. I went outside today and looked at the beautiful snow. I can't wait to be able to play in it, I think I would get lost in it right now, so for now I'll just stand with mom or dad on the step and look at it. We were all snowed in today, so we spent the day together. It was a fun time. That's about all for now..hope you are staying warm and enjoying your end of October. Do you have any Halloween plans? Bye for now....

pumpkin patch

We went to the rock creek farm pumpkin patch on Saturday morning. It was a lot of fun. There were lots and lots of pumpkins in the field.
It was a nice day too. It was clear and pretty out. We took a bunch of pictures together. I got to pet a pony and a goat.
They had a little area where there were animals, so I got my picture taken with each one of them, goats, sheep, cows, ponies. We bought a couple of pumpkins and then walked around for awhile. I hope that we can go back next year.
Today mom made some pumpkin bread with the pumpkin she bought there, so the house smells really good. I can't have pumpkin bread yet, but I sure like the smell.
I am doing well, still pulling up on things and wanting to be the center of attention. I guess that's my job, right? I am not napping like I should be, but there is so much to do and see there isn't time for naps. I guess then I just have to go to bed earlier. Anyway, I hope that you are having a good week. Bye for now.

Standing by myself

Yes, I am pulling up on everything and then I fall down, cry, and get right back up and try again. I guess that's what they call learning to master something, try and try again. I am getting very good at crawling too, I can really cruise when I see something that I want, which is most everything nowadays. Mom bought me a deluxe boat, so I can swim around in the pool. We went to Breckenridge on Saturday and I got to try it out there. It was fun to kick my feet and do a little splashing around too. We had a fun day.
I am doing very well with eating now too. I don't spit everything out quite as much as before. I like sweet potatoes, carrots, squash and I'm warming up to peaches.I'm not sure what we are going to do this weekend, but I hope that you have a great rest of your week. Bye for now.

6 month check up

I had my 6 month check up on Monday. So here are the stats: Weight: 14 lbs. 11.5 oz Height: 2' 2.5" head: 16.75". I am just on the curve and doing well. I have the highest percentage for my height (61%). I also had to have some more shots, but I did real well. I cried just a little, but then I had my smile again. Now, I have a cold, so I am not feeling too well, but it will pass. I am working on my crawling and getting better and better. We've had a busy week. Mom broke her glasses so we had to go to the eye doctor and then pick out some new frames. Her glasses are really cool. Mom is working a little bit more this weekend, so it will me daddy and me time. I love to be with my daddy. We do lots of fun things together. I also like to be read too, now that I don't have to put the book in my mouth. Well, that's about all for now, I'm suppose to be napping, but I wanted to let you know how I was doing. Have a great weekend. Bye for now.

Hand-picked

I was hand-picked....My mommy told me that before time began Jesus hand-picked me to come and live with them. Because my birthmom and birthdad love me so much they wanted me to have the best life I could have so they hand-picked my mommy and daddy to love me and raise me as their own. I am so happy to have been hand-picked to be part of this family. I feel so blessed and thankful to my birthparents for their love and for making this most difficult decision. I'm glad that I get to visit with them and get to know them too. They get to see how I have changed and grown and how very loved and taken care of I am each time we see one another. I hope that in some small way this helps them know that they made the right choice. Thank you.

I am doing well. I am doing the army crawl and sometimes taking a few steps on all fours before I fall on my tummy. I can get around pretty quickly though, keeps mom and dad on their toes. I am eating some solids again too, tried sweet potatoes and bananas. It took a few days to like the sweet potatoes, but the bananas were much better. I also like oatmeal much better than rice cereal. I have learned a trick, when I don't want to eat anymore, I just stick my tongue out and then there is no way you're getting any food in my mouth. It works like a charm. That's about all that has been happening with me lately. Bye for now.

Almost Crawling

Here I am, almost crawling....I can stand up on all fours and move my legs, but my arms and legs don't seem to want to move together. I somehow either end up on my head or on my belly and then do my flying maneuver. Mom and dad are getting the house ready for my crawling debut, gates and locking devices, so I can see what I can get into and what really works well. I have become quite the little screamer too, especially when mom takes me shopping, I must let everyone know that I am there too. Don't forget about me....:) I am growing, I just had my six month pictures taken and I was a challenge for the lady taking my picture, she would try to pose me a certain way and then I would move all over, so she just went with it and they turned out real well anyway. Grandpa and Grandma B are coming again this weekend, so mom is getting things ready for their visit. I hope that you have a good weekend..I am doing very well and enjoying all the attention. Bye for now.

Reading is fun!

I am enjoying reading with Grandma. I guess we are having some technical difficulties with the blog, mom is trying to figure out why the pictures aren't showing up, but in the meantime, here I am. Maybe she'll have to do just one picture at a time instead of the slideshow, I don't know. I have been a busy girl, going here and there and everywhere. This weekend should be a little bit quieter. Hope you have a good one. Bye for now.

Shower to shower

This is a picture from the shower that I was given. I got lots of clothes and books, now mommy and daddy can read to me before bed or anytime of the day. My bookshelf is nearly full now. I also got some neat stuffed animals and some pretty handmade sweaters. I can't wait till it gets cooler so I can wear some of my new clothes. Mom went through all my clothes the other day so she could put the new ones where they belonged. I am so thankful for all the new people I have met, everyone is so friendly and wants to hold me. I always have a smile to give too! Just wanted to fill you in on what was new with me, I hope that you are having a good week. Bye for now.

Road Trip

We went to visit the family in NE this past weekend. I got to meet my great grandparents and I got to celebrate the 4th birthday of Luke & Janae, my cousins. We had a good time, lots of playing, not much napping to be done, oh well. I guess I can give mom and dad a hard time now that we are back home, I am pretty good....We spent time at the farm, so I got to see a horse, chickens, kittens and a couple of dogs. It was fun to get to meet my other three cousins. Ryan gave me lots of kisses and Janae wanted to hold me all the time. Needless to say, I got lots of attention. Now we are back and getting into the routine again. This week is going to be busy too. My grandma from ND is coming on Wednesday, I haven't seen her since the end of May, so I am excited about that and then my other grandparents are coming on Friday. I am going to be dedicated to Jesus on Sunday and then our church is going to shower me with gifts and fun....yeah! Like I said, busy week. That's all for now...bye for now

that's my baby face

I am doing lots of moving around lately. I try to get myself up to a crawl, but my arms and legs don't seem to get the hang of it quite yet, so I just scoot around on my belly. It's amazing how fast I can get around and now that I have the rolling over and around down, I can go even faster, look out world once I get to crawling, there ain't no stopping me....We are going on a trip this weekend, going to NE to visit grandma and grandpa and to meet my other cousins and the great grandparents.
How exciting! I wonder how I will do in the car for 6 hours?! I'll let you know. We'll be back on Monday night, so it's not too long of a trip. Do you have any fun
weekend plans?? We'll talk again soon. Bye for now....

Five Months and counting....

Today is my five month birthday....and we decided to go hiking at St. Mary's Glacier over by Idaho Springs. It was very steep and rocky, and when we got to the top it was windy and cold, but what can you expect when there is snow on the glacier. We tried out the hiking backpack, so I rode with daddy. It was fun, I would look from side to side checking out all the prettty trees and things. I'm not quite big enough to look all the way out, so I would peek out from behind. I was tired when we came down, so I took a nap, but all in all it was a fun day. I hope that you all had a good Monday too. Bye for now.

cousins

I got to meet 3 of my six cousins from Nebraska this past weekend. This is Connor, he is only 8 days older than me and about 5 pound heavier than me. He was trying to get my attention. My aunt and grandpa and grandma came to visit, so that grandma could come and help take care of me for the week. My daddy is on a trip to Florida for the week, so grandma came to help mommy. We have been having a good time. I miss my daddy though. He'll be back on Friday. We did quite a few things over the weekend, we went hiking, swimming and just plain hanging around together. I was so tired that I slept all night long, two nights in a row....mom was happy about that too. I have been taking longer naps lately too, about 2 1/2 hour naps. Mom doesn't know what to do with herself when I sleep that long, secretly I think she really likes it...I hope that you have a great rest of your week. Bye for now.

4 month checkup

I had my four month check up today...it went well, my head was measured, 16 inches, my body was measured, 24 1/2 inches long and they weighed me, 12 lb. 5.5 oz. I have grown a bit since my last check. Then I had the not so fun things done, the shots, I was not a happy camper about that, but daddy held me and I felt better. I am developing right on track, I'm little, but that's okay. The doctor told mom and dad to wait on the rice cereal for a little longer since it doesn't agree with my tummy very well. She was very nice, I really like her, she listened to my heart and checked my tummy and then watched to see how well I can hold my head up when I am on my tummy. I think I passed with flying colors. The two of us even had a little conversation, me blowing bubbles and she copying me. I went and did errands and went to the park with mom after that and when I got home I took a 2 1/2 hour nap, that doctor business wears me out. I hope that you have a great day. I hope things are going well for you...Later.

fun at the farm....

I have my own little farm at my house, my exersaucer. I get to play with cows, pigs, horses and sheep. My little barn even plays a few songs and has blinking lights. I really enjoy the time I get to exercise my legs and also chew on the cow and pig. It keeps me very entertained, at least for about 10 minutes, then it's on to the next thing! I wonder what will we will do this weekend?! I hope that you have a great weekend and enjoy some fireworks for me, not sure what I will think about all that
noise.

My first hike

mom and dad and me went on a hike to White Ranch in Golden. It was so much fun. I talked and laughed the whole time, no sleeping here. We were gone for about an hour and a half which was long enough for me, I was getting a little crabby by the end, but I can't wait to go on another hike. It was so pretty, I saw lots of wildflowers, white, blue, pink, purple, yellow. I could see for miles and miles at one point, daddy said we could probably see all the way to Kansas, wherever that is, that must be a long ways away.
We went on a hike and I got to go swimming again later that day with mom. I was pretty tired by the end of Saturday and I had to be up and ready to go to church the next day and see lots more people. I did real well though, slept and ate and gave my smiling face to those who visited with me. I had a good weekend, I hope that you did too. Bye for now.

My first semi-solid food

I tried rice cereal for the first time on Tuesday, not sure about that...it's not the greatest thing in the world, I much prefer my formula and the bottle, I know that mom and dad are going to keep trying to get me to eat the cereal, but I'm not sure I can get used to that in my mouth. Mom just puts some in and then gives me the bottle as fast as she can, so that I will swallow the cereal, good thinking. What an adventure this eating thing is going to be. I think that I am up for the challenge though. This was my exciting news I was going to share with you yesterday, but then mom got busy so she couldn't type what I told her to type. Anyway, have a great weekend.

Water Baby?!

I went swimming yesterday for the first time. I didn't cry, but I wasn't altogether sure about it either. I think that I will like it. The further I went down in the water, the colder it was, so my little chin would quiver a bit, but then daddy wrapped me in my towel and I was all nice and warm. I can't wait to go again. It is going to be a hot week this week, so maybe we'll go again soon.
I also had another new experience today, but I'll share that with you tomorrow, one thing at a time. You'll laugh, probably. It's time for me to go to bed now, so we'll talk again tomorrow. Sleep well and dream sweet. bye.

It's Good to be Clean!

At least this is what my mom says, when she gives me a bath. I wasn't to excited about taking baths at first, in fact I cried the whole first time, but then the next time, mom was soothing and kept saying, "It's good to be clean, it's good to be clean...." I guess I got used to the idea and now actually enjoy being in the water. Mom and dad take turns giving me my bath every other night.
It helps me to sleep at night, it is so very soothing and relaxing. No wonder mom likes them so much. That's about all for now. Have a great rest of your weekend. Thanks for checking up on me.

Mom & Me

This weekend Grandma and Grandpa came to visit. We had a good time together. They took me for plenty of walks (they must not have much to do where they live since they walk so much!). I also got to show them how big I've gotten and how I can turn over, lift my head up real high, and kick and stand (with a little help, of course) really well!

I give them plenty of smiles since I don't get to see them too often. Mom and me even got to show them how I can laugh.

Lions & Tigers & ....Giraffes?!

Welcome to my safari...if mom did things right, you should be able to see more pictures of it along the side of the blog, if not, be patient, she is still learning all the ins and outs of this blog deal...

I will get to know my animals before most little girls, because I have wide variety in my room (even snakes and alligators). Mom found these really cool stickers you can put on the wall at the dollar store, so she has decorated the walls with them. They peel right off, so they don't hurt the wall, that's the best part about them, other than being just a dollar.

Well, this week has been much quieter than the past few weeks. Not much new happening here, I do the same old, same old, still working on the tummy to back thing, will I ever get it?!

Grandma and Grandpa B are coming for a visit tomorrow for the weekend, so I wonder what fun things we will do together. Thanks for visiting my room.

Behold the Power Nap

This should have been written on Friday, but mom got a little busy, so bear with her please. I have to admit I was a handful that day. For some reason I decided I only needed 10 minute naps instead of my usual 30-45 minute ones. Mom would just get started on something and I would wake up, oh well, I only needed to recharge my batteries, I didn't need any more time than that...she should be glad I at least took some nap, what's with the complaining anyway?!

I had a very busy weekend too, so I am a tired girl, we went
to church and then the church people had a surprise reception for my daddy's recent graduation from seminary, (whatever that is...). I was the center of attention of course, then we went to uncle Terry and aunt Mel's house and I got to meet some more friends and family. Whew!!!

Anyway, today was my regrouping day, time to just veg and sleep and get back to myself...hopefully tomorrow I will be back to my normal cheery self. I'll get on mom about writing more regularly, I have people to keep up with and who want to know about me too. Hope you all had a great weekend.

O The Joy

Hello world, I'm Anna and I am going to be sharing with you the wonders that come my way as I grow...here's the latest thing I can do, check it out!

Look at me, I can roll over onto my tummy....the hard part is rolling over to my back, I kick and push and grunt, but nothing seems to be happening? Will someone help me? O wait, do I want someone to help me? I can do it BY MYSELF!!:) Sometimes I do it accidentally and then I can't remember how I did it, woe is me...Anyway, that is my newest wonder....I'll add more when the next big thing (which is everything so far) happens for me. Thanks for the visit.
